Whether acupuncture practice - consultancy needs license/permission under Travancore Cochin Medical Practitioners Act 1953

The Honourable High Court of Kerala vide judgment dated 3-3-2017 rendered by Justice Sunil Thomas held that the practice of Acupuncture by trained practitioner is allowable as per the provisions of law. In a Criminal Miscellaneous case filed through Advocate Sherry J Thomas, the court held that prosecution charged against the accused alleging that the accused conducted practice/consultation of acupuncture without obtaining permission from the authorities under Travancore Cochin Medical Practitioners Act will is not sustainable and the proceedings were quashed.
